Message from Scott Flanagan

The Starry Sampler was originally created for McCall’s Quilting using my “Quilters Guide to the Galaxy” Collection back in 2021. Since then, I have been waiting for the right time to release it as a stand-alone project and 4th & Main Favorites was the perfect collection to do that with! One of my favorite aspects of this project is featuring the same block in two different sizes. Overall, the quilt includes three different block sizes: 24”, 12”, and 6”. The use of these different sizes throughout the quilt help to achieve a sense of movement and flow, which is what makes sampler quilts so eye-catching. Often my quilts feature a lot of one background print and usually are within the lighter tones. Starry Sampler features a variety of backgrounds using the darker tones in this collection with light stars shimmering over the surface.
