This two day course with Verna will teach you how to create a Jelly Roll Rug! Whether you make something for your floor or some cute placemats, this class will be fun and informative! NEW! Try a heart-shaped rug!
Supplies:
- Jelly Roll Rug pattern
- Jelly Roll Love Rug pattern
- Strip set
- Jelly roll batting - 1650 inches or 42 m of 2 1/2” batting strips (scraps will work, they will be pieced together)
- #16 denim machine needles or ask for a Purple-tipped needle
- Best Press or Acorn pressing solution
- 1200 yds of thread that blends or contrasts, or variegated
- Walking foot
Bring basic sewing supplies including thread snips, seam ripper, bobbins pre-wound with your thread, pins, rotary cutter, mat and ruler.
Pre-Class Preparation
Make sure your machine is clean and in good working order. You must be able to sew a 5mm wide zigzag stitch. Come to class with all of your fabric strips joined together on the diagonal, as in the diagram on the first page of the pattern; make sure you don’t include the selvedge ends). You should have approximately 50 yards of 2 1/2” fabric strips joined. You do not have to sew the batting strips together.
